The Wood Between The Worlds is from The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis. It is the place from which Digory and Polly enter into different worlds while wearing his Uncle's rings. They would jump into a pool of water one of these pools led to Narnia at the moment of its creation. Before they got there they ended up entering another world and brought with them the evil Jadis, a.k.a. the White Witch, and I think most people know what happened to Narnia next from The Lion, The Whitch, and The Wardrobe.
